English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)Free
About this course
One of the attributes setting the Morristown community apart from many others is its diversity. We are proud to be nestled in a town with residents of so many different cultural backgrounds.
Many employers and the majority of people in the area speak English, and often times conversational English skills are required at minimum to hold jobs. Our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Program introduces and enhances English skills at beginner and intermediate levels, offered in fall and spring semesters.
For our Hispanic and Latino population, only 55% of Morris County residents reported speaking English well (intermediate/advanced reading, speaking, and writing skills) (source).
Cornerstone Family Programs and Morristown Neighborhood House, in our mission to provide everyone in our community a chance to live a productive life, offer courses in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
Held in the Fall and in the Spring at Morristown Neighborhood House, classes are available at beginner and intermediate levels for students to learn basic conversational skills, as well as speaking, reading, and writing lessons to help them navigate in the English-speaking community. We also place an emphasis on English in the workplace as a component in teaching our students.
