About this course

MNH After School Program & Project Safe Program

MNH offers (4) afterschool program sites to the Morristown and Dover community for children in grades K-8th grade.

The Morristown Neighborhood House afterschool program is located at our Flagler Street location in Morristown for children that attend a school in the Morris School District. We have successfully supporting MSD families with this program for more than 30 years! The school district provides transportation to our location as we are a designation bus stop for before and afterschool pick up in the morning and return in the afternoon. Our program runs Monday – Friday until 6pm, including some school holidays and early dismissals.

Project Safe is our afterschool program that currently operates out of three schools in Dover – Academy Street School, North Dover School and East Dover Middle School – for students in the Dover school district. Our program runs Monday-Friday on the local school district schedule until 6pm.

Throughout the school year, children receive academic reinforcement, recreational services and other vital family support through our afterschool programs. Our programs provide rewarding, challenging and age appropriate activities in a safe and positive atmosphere with peers. Our program increases the time the children spend in academic activities, which has been shown to lead to improved academic results. The afterschool programs allows the students to interact socially, learn conflict resolution skills, and participate in other additional activities that we make available to them such as STEM, theater workshops, cooking classes, extra help with homework, and boys and girls empowerment discussions.

Our staff serves as role models to guide the children to succeed in school and to realize their full potential. The staff receive on-going training to keep them abreast of new teaching methods and enhance their ability to meet our children’s unique needs.  For more information, please contact Marjorie Herbert, Associate Executive Director @ 973 538-1229 ext. 29 or mherbert@cfp-mnh.org.
