About this course

Teen Ambassadors for Mental Health

Cornerstone Family Programs is one of 36 schools and youth serving organizations throughout NJ selected as a Teen Mental Health First Aid training (tMHFA) site by the National Council of Mental Well Being. This formal hands-on training teaches teens in grades 10-12, or ages 15-18, how to identify, understand and respond to the signs of mental health and substance use challenges in their friends and peers.  Our trained teen ambassadors will learn that they have an important role to play as an essential community resource helping their friends, teachers and parents find strength and resilience during difficult times in their lives To support our teens in their formal tMHFA education and training, specialized discussion groups, Teen RAP (Resilience and Purpose) bring teens together to discuss issues important to them and to strengthen their social emotional learning and resilience while on their journey to support their peers and community. The program is offered at Morristown Neighborhood House. To learn more about tMHFA training or to join a Teen RAP group, please contact Isaiah Hamilton, Teen Program Coordinator, ihamilton@cfp-mnh.org.
