Dear Friends,
Maya relied on her mother for everything. When her mother became gravely ill and was hospitalized, Maya’s world changed overnight. Suddenly, she was without the person she depended on most.
In that time of despair and uncertainty, her elderly grandparents stepped in without hesitation. They worked tirelessly to provide stability for Maya and in the midst of chaos, they found the Morristown Neighborhood House.
When Maya entered our program, she was nonverbal. Her eyes told stories her voice couldn’t yet share. We saw her pain, her confusion, and her family’s struggle and we knew we had to help.
Thanks to a generous scholarship from a donor like you, Maya found a safe, nurturing space in our preschool and afterschool programs. We provided the consistency every child needs, especially one missing her mother. Over the summer, we continued that support, ensuring she stayed engaged, cared for, and surrounded by friends. We were able to get her connected to speech and occupational therapy, and today she is talking, laughing, learning and playing. She is not just supported; she is celebrated and thriving.
Maya’s story is not just about one child; it’s only one story of resilience, family love, and a community that stepped in when it mattered most.
When we come together with compassion, resources, and heart, we don’t just change outcomes, we change lives. But unfortunately, we can’t continue to do this work without you.
Help us continue to provide scholarships and care that transform lives so that a child feels safe and a family feels supported.
Your gift today can change a child’s tomorrow.
Sincerely,
