About this course
Rites of Passage – (ROP) is designed to provide instructional learning experiences through exposure to African American and Latino culture and history. Multicultural youth learn the importance of embracing their rich heritage to build their confidence, leadership, and problem-solving skills that improve their social, educational and vocational outcomes. Youth between the ages of 11-18 engage in 20 sessions on Wednesday nights from February-June, led by male and female licensed facilitators. Students and their parents surveyed after participation reported increase self-esteem , self-confidence and cultural awareness.
